Using MBOT: Posting Quiz

1. Turn the editing mode on, and select "Add an activity or resource". Click "Quiz". Click "Add".

2. Give the quiz a "Name".

3. EXTRA: If you want to set a time limit for the quiz, click "Timing". Then change the "Time limit".

4. EXTRA: If you want to set the "Grade to pass" (eg. min 5 marks), or limit the "Attempts allowed" (eg. only 2 attempts), or change the "Grading method", click "Grade" and change accordingly.

"Grading method": eg. For the final result, do you want to take the student's highest grade among all the attempts they have done, or do you want to take the student's final attempt at the quiz?

5. If you don't want the options for the questions to be shuffled, click "Question behaviour". Change "Shuffle within questions" to "No".

6. If you don't want to show the right answer after the student has submitted the quiz, click "Review options". Under "Immediately after the attempt", un-check "Right answer".

7. Click "Save and Display".

8. Click "EDIT QUIZ".

9. Click "Add", and then "+ a new question".

"From question bank": If you want to add the same question that you've added before, look for it from the question bank.

10. Choose the type of question you want. Typically, you'll want to click "Multiple choice". Click "Add".

11. Check where you're saving the question under "Category". This is where THIS question is saved in. Later, if you want to add this question again in another topic, you can look for this question within the question bank. You can think of the question bank as a folder, and the "Category" as sub-folders.

It is a good idea to save all the questions from the same topic under the same category.

12. Give a "Question name". This is where the question is being numbered - you can type "A", and then for the next question you'll use "B", and so on; or you can type "1", and then for the next question you'll use "2", and so on.

13. Under "Question text", type in your question.

14. By default, the "Default mark" for this question is "1", the question has "One answer only", the choices are numbered with "a., b., c.,...", and the choices are shuffled. You can change these according to however you want.

But if you have already done Step 5 earlier, where you've changed "Shuffle within questions" to "No", then you don't need to bother changing the "Shuffle the choices?" part here.

15. Type the answer for "Choice 1". If it is a wrong answer, type the feedback for this choice, eg. Wrong! Please refer to "Steels & Its Heat Treatment: Part 2" (Page 1). If you type in the exact file name as the slides you've uploaded in this topic, the student is able to click into the exact slide folder when they are reading the feedback.

16. For the correct answer, change the "Grade" to "100%".

17. Click "Save Changes".

18. If you want to add another question, click onto the "Add" below the previous question. (eg. In this picture below, there are now two "Add"s. Use the lower one.)

19. When you are done adding questions, click "Save".

20. EXTRA: The next time you click into this quiz and wish to edit the questions, click the gear button and click "Edit quiz".

21. EXTRA: If you want to add a question from the question bank, here's how it looks like. When you're adding a question, click "from question bank".

22. Select the category of the question where you've saved in. Then select the question you wish to add.
